ICUP Cohesion Diversity

Intercultural Understanding Partnership

Cohesion in Diversity online course

Cohesion in Diversity is a free online course for teachers. It is practically oriented, being based on frequently asked questions by classroom teachers. It builds on the existing Difference Differently  course and utilises findings from a major research project – Doing Diversity.  Deakin University, headed this three-year project working with 12 diverse schools in Victoria and a number of partner organisations including Together for Humanity and the Department of Education and Training Victoria.

The Cohesion in Diversity course has a core module and three elective modules. The core module presents research to inform school-based initiatives around intercultural understanding. The three elective modules demonstrate good practice in differing school contexts.

The course is linked to Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and, for teachers in NSW, is NESA accredited.
